Q&A with Ashleigh Brilliant

A CONVERSATION WITH THE MAN BEHIND THE WORDS

We've been inspired by your words. Who inspires you?

No particular living person, but there are some poets I greatly admire, such as A.E. Housman.

You've written thousands of Brilliant Thoughts. Have you ever found yourself in a creative block and if so, what did you do to overcome this time?

Never had a creative block that couldn't be helped by a good night's sleep.

Did you find it hard to keep to your self-imposed 17 word limit?

Challenging, but not really hard.  Eventually it became almost automatic.

Is there a character behind the sayings?

Only myself.

Did you ever think your words would become so popular?

I never expected to become rich and famous from them -- (and I really haven't).

Which Brilliant Thought is your favourite?

"Fundamentally, there may be no basis for anything."

What are you most proud of?

I have no pride.

Has your outlook on life changed overtime with the coming of the digital age?

Everything seems increasingly miraculous.
